“The greatest discovery of our generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind. As you think, so shall you be.”
~ William James
For a long time, I wanted to start a blog, not for any particular reason or to target any particular audience, but just for me. Life has an interesting way of taking us on a rollercoaster ride of events. We have many happy experiences, and we have many negative experiences. I have learned so much from being with my husband about the power of perception and being strong enough to not let negative things in our lives keep us down. We were meant to be fighters, and not just fighters but to encourage and motivate our peers around us. I started a motivational Facebook group and from time to time I will discuss issues and encourage us to keep our heads up if we experience that situation. The feedback I received on my first post really made me happy. I felt so relieved when people told me, “I struggle with this too!” or “Wow! I really needed to hear this.” It was then that people were telling me that I should start blogging, and then a few months later I have made it a reality.
Positive thinking means that you approach unpleasant situations in a more positive and productive way. You believe the best is going to happen, not the worst. Did you know that having a positive outlook enables you to cope better with stressful situations, which reduces the harmful health effects of stress on your body? Yes it is true!
Take time to do things that make you and your soul happy! Despite the craziness of the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and now the upcoming holidays, take a few moments to breathe and realize how lucky you are. You might have a million things to do everyday especially as a mom like myself…. but be grateful for what you DO have. Be grateful you have food in your fridge, family members and friends who love you, a bed to sleep in, and COFFEE! Have a grateful heart <3 Take time for yourself and think about what a great life you are blessed with!
When you don’t take that time to appreciate and have a grateful heart then you are only a shadow of your true self and how can you give those around you the best part of yourself if your not taking that time for yourself? What do YOU do to make your soul happy?
Here are some ways I have found to think and behave in a more positive and optimistic way:
- Identify areas to change.
- Check yourself and reevaluate your perspective on life.
- Be open to humor and just laugh.
- Follow a healthy lifestyle and reduce your stress factors
- Surround yourself with positive people who encourage you to grow
- Practice positive self-talk.
